Everyone wants to know why we chose a name like The Rusty Onion for the place that serves the best pizza Carolina has to offer After all, rust and food don’t generally go together and, as a beloved beast in a Disney movie pointed out, “not everybody likes onions” – most onions, anyway. The response to this particular onion has been really good, and we’re pretty proud of that. So, how did we come up with the name, you ask? Well, we wanted a place that would stand out in the local restaurant line up, and in order to do that, we had to be willing to take some risks.
We had a fun bartender who took our to-go order, while we ordered some drinks. She was personable, quirky, made some menu recommendations, and even the food met our expectations. We'll be back!
I have always enjoyed this restaurant pre and post change over. I do appreciate the new owners putting out more specials and open on Sundays for football season. Food quality is still as the same as I had in 2019/2020.
Went for the he first time today for lunch, and everything was great! Brought out hot, and fresh! The boneless tenders I had with the hot honey sauce was amazing! My daughters flatbread was excellent as well! The cheese on it was so good. We will be back!
It was our 1st time here today and we enjoyed the great service and the quality of the food. The Ranch for the wings is homemade and it taste so good.
Today was my first time trying The Rusty Onion. I ordered a calzone with veggies, and it was delicious! I will definitely be back. 🙂
